    Cornwall Council’s cabinet has approved plans for a second Pool Innovation Centre.

    The original Pool Innovation Centre (PIC) has proved hugely successful in supporting start-up and existing businesses, by providing state-of-the-art office space with access to a host of services and facilities to help those businesses grow.

    The team at Business Cornwall have announced they are to launch a new venture in October 2018 that will help businesses find meeting space.

    Lacuna Business is the website that makes the process of finding the right venue for upcoming conferences, workshops or training sessions easy. Rather than trawling through search engine results and visiting numerous websites, bookers will now only have to search in one place to find exactly what they need.

  • Agency scaling new heights

    Marketing and technology agency, Everest Media, has relocated to one of the largest office units at the Pool Innovation Centre (PIC) in Redruth, following two years of rapid growth.

    Since 2016, revenues at Everest Media have surged by 128%, with 40% coming from international partnerships. Headcount at the agency has also increased from eight to 18 digital experts and developers, with the company currently recruiting for more staff.

    Expressions of interest are being sought from organisations to deliver a new £1 million European programme to provide support and training to help individuals prepare to set up in business.

  • Parenting Advice Company Secures Deal With Major Retailer

    A company, based at the Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre (HWIC) which produces instruction manuals for dads is hoping to double its turnover after securing a supply deal with a major retailer.

    DadPad, developed in Cornwall by founder Julian Bose and the NHS, is to be sold in Mothercare outlets across the UK.

  • Co-Founder of Green & Black’s to speak at GrowthFest

    Co-Founder of internationally renowned chocolate brand Green and Black’s, Jo Fairley, will be giving the keynote presentation to round off GrowthFest - a free business event celebrating the success of business support in Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly.

    Green & Black’s confectionary brand has grown from a £20,000 start-up to a brand worth £100 million in less than 20 years.
