  • Cornwall Business Awards 2018 shortlist revealed

    The shortlist for the Cornwall Business Awards 2018 has been revealed, featuring 31 businesses from Bude to the Isles of Scillly, and covering a diverse range of sectors.

    The shortlisted businesses are now in the running for the coveted awards and are tentatively awaiting the ceremony on 19 April at St Mellion International Resort, when they will find out who has won.

    Technology users should be offered more detailed support and guidance when creating account passwords in order to make them more secure and harder to crack, a study suggests.

    Research led by the University of Plymouth found those who receive basic guidance including password meters were up to 40 per cent more likely to make their choices secure.

  • New Head for Plymouth Business School

    An internationally renowned expert on the law and economics of the marine and maritime domain has been appointed as Head of the new Plymouth Business School (PBS).

    Professor Jingjing Xu was chosen following an extensive external and internal recruitment campaign and will take forward the new PBS, which brings together the existing Plymouth Business School, with the Graduate School of Management and the School of Tourism and Hospitality.
